Looking out to London’s South Bank and St Paul’s Cathedral, Dandelyan (World’s 50 Best Bar #1) is the bar of Mondrian London and the creative work of bartending pioneers Ryan Chetiyawardana and Iain Griffiths. It manages to be high-end but accessible – trendy pink, green and gold décor, relaxed but emotionally intelligent service and cocktails that make you think. The music is a mix of late 70s and early 80s rock, funk and disco with cool DJs playing on weekend.

Located in the Sea Containers next to Blackfriars Bridge, the destination bar is known for its imaginative cocktails, with the current menu designed around a “Modern Life of Plants” concept that aims to explore industrialisation and large scale food systems. It’s divided into three sections: Mint, Grape and Hops, with ingredients ranging from moss vermouth to cream of snails.

Complementing the imaginative cocktail creations, Dandelyan’s striking interiors were designed with flair by legendary British designer Tom Dixon. A sumptuous, Art Deco–inspired space that references the luxurious cruise liners of generations past.
