Roberta's, located in post-industrial Brooklyn, is hidden behind a black door with a funky sign. But that hasn't stopped people from noticing the best pizzeria in the borough.

It's a simple place with a predictable interior: Wooden tables, ceiling beams, and quaint light fixtures. The menu is limited, consisting mainly of various types of pizza and appetizers. Not surprisingly, Roberta's is a favorite with locals, but celebrities like Kirsten Dunst also stop by from time to time. The pizza, prepared in a brick oven, has an uneven, crunchy crust and is served on special hot plate. They also make bread, pastries, and even marshmallows to go with hot chocolate. It's a fantastic place for brunch.

We recommend: Besides the pizza, Roberta's also offers fabulous appetizers.

Cuisine: pizzeria

Atmosphere: hipster/trendy/casual

The crowd: locals, hipsters, pizza fans, celebrities

Key info: They only accept cash. You can order pizza to go. There's a bar in the courtyard where you can sip wine while waiting for a table.
