Navy is the creation of Matt Abramcyk and Akiva Elstein, the duo behind Smith & Mills in Tribeca. Chef Camille Becerra's famous cooking – focusing on fresh seafood and vegetables – is both nutritious and delicious. A raw bar offers fresh oysters, blinis with caviar, and homemade crackers to go with primo sardines.
Navy is one of those small, cozy "neighborhood" restaurants respected by local gourmands. The design is eclectic: rustic floors, mosaic tiles, vintage stools and lamps.
We recommend: fish tacos with quinoa; ceviche; duck breast with bulgur; black bass crudo with apple, avocado and yogurt. The menu changes every day.
Cuisine: original/healthy
Atmosphere: trendy/relaxed
The crowd: designers and editors, artists and photographers, stylists and publishers
FYI: Navy is open for breakfast and accepts takeout orders.
