The Arts Club was founded as a secret community for intellectuals and people with a passion for arts, literature and science. Amongst its members were historical figures such as Dickens, Wilkie Collins and Thomas Hughes. After its refurbishment few years ago, The Arts Club has become a hotspot for famous singers, actors, artists, designers, aristocratic families and London’s right crowd.
The Arts Club has become the heart of contemporary cultural life in London. Located in an 18th century town house on Dover Street, the place pleases its members with striking interior, artistic atmosphere and vibrant live shows. The club provides support to British-based artists, and runs temporary exhibitions through out the year. In its permanent collection are works by Tomas Saraceno, John Baldessari and John Stezakar. Arts Club is divided into several spaces: a salon, a modern brasserie with authentic British menu, drawing room, library bar, conservatory, nightclub and garden area. Moreover, the club features an inspiring summer terrace.
Good to know: Its members only club. If don't hold membership, you can always ask your lucky friends to grant you access.
