Opera Gallery Singapore appeared on the city’s map in 1994 and at the time was the second space opened by the famous gallerist Gilles Dyan. That moment marked Opera Gallery’s global expansion with consequent openings of new branches around the world.
Opera Gallery boasts an impressive artist list from celebrated names of modern and post-war art alike Braque, Dali, Magritte, Chagall, Miro, Picasso and Warhol to the leading contemporary artists Fernando Botero, Alex Katz, Robert Longo, Anish Kapoor, Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama amongst others. The gallery hosts 5 exhibitions a year presenting acclaimed artists along with upcoming names and fosters a strong connection with the Asian art scene.
Amongst the permanent exhibits you can always spot a piece by Chagall or Picasso, so if you feel a sudden nostalgia for European art while in Singapore this is the best place to find it.
