A hidden gem amidst the Botanic Gardens, The Halia takes its title from the Ginger Garden in which it’s located: ‘halia’ in Malay stands for ‘ginger’. The restaurant’s interior is an elegant complement to its picturesque surroundings: completed in natural tones with high ceilings and glass walls that open a breath-taking view on the garden.

There is an outdoor part of the restaurant, the so-called ‘Viewing Deck’, where you can enjoy breakfast between 9 and 11am or hide away during a hot afternoon in the shade of ancient trees, surrounded by more than a hundred varieties of ginger plants. Naturally, ginger became an active ingredient in many dishes of this restaurant, those are marked with a special symbol on the menu.

The restaurant serves a fusion of European and Asian cuisine and since its inception in 2001 has maintained consistent high standard in food. Fresh oysters, perfectly cooked seafood, tender steaks and dessert prepared to perfection - the menu will impress a discerning gourmet.

Cuisine: Fusion/Asian.

We recommend: ‘Pan-fried Halloumi' with ginger flower dressing, smoked capsicum, korean chilli; 'Lemongrass & Ginger Prawn Salad' цшер fresh mango & tomato salsa, glass noodles & ginger flower dressing; 'Halia’s Singapore-style chilli crab spaghettini'. For dessert taste the delicious 'Ginger Garden' with orange blossom vanilla mousse, galangal poached apples, blood orange coulis and ginger flower sorbet or 'Ginger Spice, All Things Nice' with ginger & almond nougatine parfait, coconut mousse, compressed pineapple and dehydrated coconut flesh.

Atmosphere: Relaxed

Crowd: businessmen, couples, foodies, travellers.

Key info: vegetarian options are marked with a special symbol in the menu.
