Even though we love going off the beaten path, we couldn't ignore one of Milan's largest galleries, the Pinacoteca di Brera. It contains some of Italy's greatest national treasures, including works by geniuses such as Raphael, Tintoretto, Caravaggio, and Carpaccio, and masterpieces by non-Italian painters.
It's an obvious tourist destination, a required stop on any cultural tour of Milan, so we recommend combining your visit to the Brera gallery with a trip to one of the city's many fantastic contemporary art galleries. That way, you'll see something new while also gaining an appreciation for the continuity of Italian art.
