This contemporary art-hotel is located in a gorgeously restored building on Broadway that's been literally returned to its golden years. French interior designer Jacques Garcia has put a new spin on the European grand hotel by applying cosmopolitan, modernist sensibilities. We found a perfect restaurant, lounge/library, boutique and cozy rooms (there are 168, including 14 suites).
The eponymous restaurant, opened under the careful supervision of chef Daniel Humm (of three-Michelin starred Eleven Madison) and restaurateur Will Guidara, deserves a special mention. The clientele is primarily local. There's also a bar, The NoMad Bar, with a separate entrance at 10 West 28th Street.
