The Alan Cristea Gallery's is widely known as a successful commercial art space and Europe's largest publisher of original prints. Opened in 1995, the gallery acquired a second address on Cork Street in 2007. Fascinating exhibitions occur here one after another. The quality and quantity of the artists on display is impressive. They include Miró, Picasso, Albers, Hockney, Warhol, Wesselmann, and others. There's also a fair amount of contemporary art, some of which is experimental and highly conceptual. One of the gallery's newer acquisitions is British artist Julian Opie, a favorite among fans of contemporary pop art.
FYI: Even if you don't plan on buying anything, be sure to visit the bookstore. Some of the publications are works of art in and of themselves.
